The Mountain Island
“This is the highest point in Portugal, with 2351 meters at its summit, and one of the most beautiful landscapes the Azores has to offer. Its vineyard landscape has been classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This island was also a key whaling center in the archipelago. The main activities to do on Pico are whale watching, mountaineering, geotourism, diving and hiking.”

Azores Triangle
Pico, Faial and São Jorge
Due to their location and daily maritime connections, the islands of Pico, São Jorge and Faial form the “triangle” of the central group. With unique features in the landscape, none of these islands are similar but complement each other, with the mountains of Pico, the escarpments and fajãs of São Jorge or a sand volcano or a caldera of lagoons and greenery in Faial, this proximity invites you to cross the sea to get to know this concept of the archipelago.
